There are several reasons a car may not detect the key fob, also known as a remote keyless entry (RKE) system. One of the most common causes is a dead or weak battery in the key fob. If the battery is weak or dead, the key fob will not be able to transmit the proper signal to the car’s receiver, and the car will not detect the key fob.
Key Fob Not Detected: Common Causes. A dead battery is the most common reason the Fiat Fremont doesn’t detect a key fob. Water damage is the next most prevalent reason. If you have access to the other key fob, you can use it to verify that your car can detect it.
Insert a T-20 driver and turn counterclockwise until you reach a stop. Pull out the key core / IR sensor assembly guide (if driver’s side) or blank guide out while at the same time pulling on the door handle. You can have the door lock guide hang by the electrical wires or disconnect the wires if it is on the driver’s side. (Figure 1) Pull

Use the keyfob itself to push the start button. Even with a dead battery, the antennae in the ignition module should still pick up the transponder. If you would like a demonstration, watch
