Common Faults: Land Rover TD5 Motorola ECM/ECU's will cause issues such as limited revs to below 2000 RPM, cutting out when driving and intermittent to complete non-start issues. When the ECM scanned with diagnostic equipment commonly logged fault codes include: 0128 - topside switch failed, 0135 through to 0138 - injectors 1 through to 5
When I first started looking into this problem it became apparent that the sunroofs etc. were leaking a bit and the footwell carpets were damp underneath - I put a de-humidifier inside over a weekend and the problem circuits worked but soon failed again. This led me to believe that damp might be an issue.
Less common, but just as messy is the cam box sealant breaking down and leaking oil out through the 2 halves. ( Quite an expensive fix as the head bolts need to be removed to repair it, which in essence is a head gasket replacement job) Also, the fuel block leaks diesel down the RH rear of the head/ block.
This would cause a symptom like you are having. Solution, remove the bolts of the slave, without disconnecting supply line if possible, and turn the rod in the direction that extends it. try a 1/4 ich to start. Make sure you test your pedal travel afterwards using the 1 inch off the floor before it bites info.
